IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Please Read before proceeding to registration links below

Registration Dates

Registration for Fall 2008 classes begin on August 11, 2008 at 8am. Registrations are accepted on a first come first serve basis until all available spots are full or until 5pm on the posted registration deadline day (unless otherwise noted), whichever occurs first.

Registration Fees

All registration fees will be due by 5pm on the following business day from when the registration information is received in order for registration to be considered complete. Payments not made online should be brought to the Recreational Sports office, room 142 McComas Hall. For any fees not paid by 5pm the following business day, the registration form will be deleted and a new registration form will need to be submitted again to be eligible for that activity. If you are registering on the day of the deadline, your payment must be received by 5pm on the posted deadline date, NO EXCEPTIONS.

Private Lessons

Private lessons are on a rolling registration. Private Swim and Gymnastics lessons are available year round, based on instructor availability. Private tennis instruction is available from April to October. Payment for private instruction is due at 5pm the following business day.

Fall Tennis Instruction Note: Due to a court resurfacing project, the remaining tennis season has been postponed. We anticipate that private tennis lessons will start back up in the Spring of 2009. Although it is unfortunate that our program has been suspended, we are looking forward to a great new playing surface. Thanks for your patience!

Email Confirmation

Confirmation of an activity registration will be emailed to the primary participant immediately after submitting the required activity registration information. This email is a proof of registration receipt and should not be discarded just in case a disparity should occur. Further information regarding the activity will be outlined in the email confirmation as a reference. If you do not receive an email confirmation immediately after completing the required registration information, please contact instruct@vt.edu to confirm that your registration was indeed received and to correct any errors that may have occurred in the process.

Transfers/Refunds

Refunds will only be granted for medical conditions in which a medical excuse is provided by the primary physician stating reasons why participation is discouraged and/or prohibited. Full refunds will be granted before sessions begin. After a session has begun, partial refunds may be issued with a doctor's note and after approval from the Aquatics & Instructional Department. Beginning July 1, 2008, the Aquatics and Instructional Department are adopting a new refund and transfer policy.

  • $10.00 will be charged for each transfer
  • Refund requests will only be eligible for 75% of the original price paid for a class
This change is being made in order to cover the rising costs for credit card refunds and the handling processes our department endures for making these changes.

Refunds requested after the completion of the session will be denied. Transfers will be granted on a case by case basis and will have to be approved by the Aquatics & Instructional Department. If you are approved a transfer, you have one year from the transfer date to utilize the credit. Transfers are not valid after one year. Transfer funds may be applied to other instructional programs offered by Virginia Tech Recreational Sports.

Again, prior to registering, we ask that you please check your schedule and make sure that the scheduled instructional classes do not conflict with your calendar.
